CoolCell® FTS30

CoolCell FTS30 is a high capacity controlled-rate cell freezing system for cryopreservation of up to 30 cryogenic tubes in a -80°C freezer. The CoolCell technology has become the standard for passively cryopreserving cells that require a controlled -1°C/minute freeze rate - such as primary cells, cell lines, stem cells, PBMC and yeast.

Micro-convection meets thermo-conductivity

The innovative, patent-pending device utilizes a novel alloy and controlled micro-convection technology to evenly draw in cold freezer air through a bottom intake valve, uniformly disperse the cold air around each tube in the central FTS chamber and then release the thermal load from the tubes through an exhaust port on the top of the device.  Each tube achieves a uniform and reproducible -1°C/minute freezing profile.

The inner removable FTS Vial Module (Item #BCS-210) holds 30 cryogenic tubes and can be placed in a biosafety cabinet for efficient loading of the prepared vials and then placed into the CoolCell FTS30 for freezing.  Frozen tubes can then be removed in one step on the FTS Vial Module and placed into a standard 5.5" x 5.5" x 2" cryogenic storage box (see inset picture above).

CoolCell FTS30 can be used for a subsequent freeze run after only a five minute wait.  Insert a new FTS Vial Module and freeze another batch.

Cost-effective and space-efficient

The compact footprint of CoolCell FTS30 provides the most cost-effective and space-efficient method for passive controlled-rate freezing of 30 cryogenic tubes, eliminating the need for expensive programmable freezers.

Holds 30 screw cap 1ml or 2ml cryogenic tubes with a 1ml tube fill volume.

No maintenance or pre-cooling required. Ready to use again after just a five minute wait between freeze runs. Lightweight, easy to open, unbreakable and not cold to touch even when frozen to cryogenic temperature.  Available in three colors - purple, orange and green.  Comes with one FTS Vial Module.
