CoolRack PCR series modules accommodate 0.2ml tubes, strips and 96-well plates, and 384-well plates.


The CoolRack Concept

Putting PCR tubes and plates in ice buckets is disorganized and exposes them to contamination from ice water.CoolRacks keep PCR tubes organized and decrease the likelihood of contamination.

CoolRack PCR eliminates temperature inconsistencies due to "user technique" which occur when tubes or plates are inserted directly into ice or the reaction is set-up on the bench.  Once the CoolRack module containing the substrate is placed into ice, it rapidly adapts to below 4°C (± 0.5 °C). The use of CoolRack modules standardizes the temperature of all wells within the plate or strip, ensuring a consistent temperature for your samples while arranging the reaction plate, and, importantly, eliminates the edge effect

 

Source temperatures could include:

  • ice
  • dry ice
  • liquid nitrogen
  • water bath
  • other common temperature sources

       

Sample tubes will remain at the desired temperature through the thermo-conductive properties of the CoolRack alloy.  All sample tubes will be consistent temperature     (+/- 0.5°C with no "edge effect") and remain stable, secure, dry and organized.

 

Recommended for applications that require uniform cooling or freezing temperature, including:
  • PCR reaction preparation
  • 0.2ml sample collection and handling

      Both modules may be used in CoolBox MP System for ice-free benchtop cooling (0.5°C to 4.0°C)
