CoolSink™ - plate modules
Thermo-conductive temperature control for multi-well plates and reservoirs
Advantages:
No ordinary plate holder.
CoolSink series plate modules accomodate standard multi-well plates with flat-bottom or u-bottom wells. Choose from 4 different modules to fit your 6-, 12-, 24-, 48- or 96-well plate cooling, freezing and thawing requirements.
The CoolSink Concept

CoolSink thermo-conductive plate modules eliminate the variability inherent in placing plates directly onto ice, dry ice, alcohol baths, water baths and other common temperature sources used for cooling and heating. Place the CoolSink module directly onto the temperature source and it will rapidly adapt to that temperature - from -196°C to +100°C. CoolSink modules ensure all wells stay within 0.5°C to 4.0°C range on ice and equalize the temperature across all wells - no "edge effect." CoolSink also provides a stable platform for the plate, making workflow easier and more secure, and minimizing contamination
Recommended for applications that require uniform cooling or freezing temperature, including:
- Assay set-up including ELISA and multi-plex immunoassasy
-
- Performing enzyme assays at specific temperatures
-
- Washing cells in tissue culture

Features:
- CoolSink series hold 6-, 12-, 24-, 48- and 96-well plates with four 90° corners
- Keeps plate wells at desired temperature, while also keeping them dry and sterile by eliminating direct contact with ice and water
- Organizes and keeps plates stable while at desired temperature
- Hard-annodized surface for resistance to rust, corrosion, and abrasion
- Function in a wide temperature range - from -196°C through >+100°C - for use in a variety of applications
- Sterilize via autoclave, high-heat, bleach solutions, disinfectants or alcohol. Compatible with common lab detergents
- Developed and designed in California. Made in USA.
See CoolRack/CoolSink performance data for information on:
- module adaptation to source temperature(s)
- elimination of the "edge effect" with temperature equalization across all wells using the CoolRack
Source temperatures could include:
- ice
- dry ice
- liquid nitrogen
- water bath
- other common temperature sources
Sample wells will remain at the desired temperature through the thermo-conductive properties of the CoolSink alloy and will remain stable, secure, dry and organized.
NOTE: Always adhere to your lab's safety procedures and use protective clothing when handling very hot or very cold CoolRack modules.
What Customers are Saying:
“The CoolSink and ThermalTray provided a very stable platform for our plates over the ice. We decided to get all of them after trying them out due to their effectiveness.”
