Controlled-Rate Cell Cryopreservation

CoolCell® delivers consistent freezing profiles to all cryogenic tubes and each freeze batch.  Consistent results ensure successful cryopreservation and reproducibly high post-thaw cell viability and function. Controlled-Rate Cell Cryopreservation Using a Dry Ice Locker

Product ImageWhen a -80°C freezer isn't available, the CoolCell® cell freezing systems can be successfully used in a dry ice locker to achieve reproducible and viable cell freezing. See testimonial below:

"Purely altruistically, I wanted to mention that one big advantage of the CoolCell is that you can use dry ice to do your freezing if you don't have a -80. I spent nearly a year getting terrible viability-recovery on cell freezing with dry ice (in an alcohol device) followed by storage in LN2, and this on HeLa cells which aren't exactly hard to store. General Snap-Freezing

Snap-freezing with a CoolRack® or CoolSink™ thermo-conductive module provides an efficient, alcohol-free and highly reproducible method.  The properties of the alloy material ensure each sample tube or well experiences the same temperature profile - whether on dry ice or in liquid nitrogen.  See performance data for information on snap-freezing rates and standard deviation reduction when using a CoolRack compared to directly inserting tubes into dry ice, dry ice / alcohol baths or liquid nitrogen.

Incubating and Thawing in a Water Bath

CoolRack® tube modules and CoolSink™ plate modules may be placed on a ThermalTray™ platform for use in a water bath.  Ensure tubes and plates stay at desired temperature, but eliminate risks associated with direct water contact.
